About Me
Hey! I’m Soraya — the hands (usually covered in clay) behind Clay By Soraya. I’m an Iranian-Australian artist based in Gledswood Hills, NSW, and I’ve been in love with all things creative for as long as I can remember. I started out with drawing, painting, and sculpture, and that eventually led me to study painting at Tehran Art University, then grab a Master of Fine Arts from UNSW.
Somewhere along the way, I discovered the magic of clay — and I’ve been hooked ever since. That’s how Clay By Soraya came to life: a cozy little studio where I get to make beautiful messes, teach awesome people, and share the joy of making things with your hands.
I run fun, relaxed ceramics workshops for anyone who wants to try something new, get creative, or just take a break from the usual day-to-day grind. Whether you’re a total beginner or have some experience, you’re welcome here.
When I’m not teaching, I’m creating a range of handmade ceramic pieces — all inspired by nature, good vibes, and the joy of slowing down. Each piece is made with love (and probably a cup of tea nearby).
Thanks for popping by! Hope to see you in the studio sometime 💛
